Hawt Couture

Today, me and Meera did a little fashion shoot. We made 3 outfits total, mostly just layering and layering random clothing on top of one another. With a little help from Picasa 3, we made collages of each outfit.
Outfit 1
~Greendog skirt, Paperdoll skirt, The Children's Place sweater, random scarf and belts, cherokee cardigan, juicy couture shirt~
Outfit 2
~Poof! leggings, Mossimo Supply Co. shorts, random belt tie, thrifted blouse, BP. cardigan~
Outfit 3
~Speechless skirt, J Crew sweater, random scarves as belts, bazooka socks, Old Navy socks, unknown brand socks~

Meera was the model, I was the stylist. Yeah, I know I will have a career in that one day. (HAHA just kidding). We used all Meera's clothes, mostly, the... thrifted blouse in outfit 2 and the J Crew sweater above are mine.
Hope you enjoyed my awesome styling skillz.

My Decatur City Adventures

Recently I went shopping in this cute little district called Downtown Decatur. It's not really downtown, it's pretty small. But it's awesome. It has a collection of little boutiques, cafes, bookstores, etc. I only bought two things, but they were both expensive amazing. Here they are~

So, I love them. The cat thing above is a hair clip, one that actually can hold back my impossibly thick hair. And the shirt, well, yeah. It was peer pressure, I tell you, PEER PRESSURE!!!

Road Trip Wednesday

Road Trip Wednesday is a "blog carnival", where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading- related question and answer it on our own blogs. You can hop from destination to destination and get everyone's unique take on the topic. Just answer the prompt on you own blog and leave a link in the comments.

I discovered Road Trip Wednesday from Meera's blog, Meeroar. I saw the question, and I just HAD to do a post. I wont be participating every week, but I will when I see a question I like. And I am a little late, you see, as it is not Wednesday. Sorry about that, It took me a while to think of my answer. Here it goes!

This Week's Topic:
What would your ideal writing desk look like? Right down to the perfect pen or laptop.

I couldn't answer that in words, so I just drew a sketch.
Here is it colored

I had a few requirements for my awesome desk.
1. Windows, windows, and more windows! Lots and lots of light
2. A really really cool chair.
3. My trusty mac laptop.
4. Kind of an eco-chic theme.
5. Organization!!!

I hope you like it, I spent my whole day drawing that, you know.

When pigs fly

Last week, my sister had her birthday party at That Pottery Place. We had 4 guests join us, plus me and Katie. We painted some pottery!!!!
My creation, a robot bank.
Rusha's creation, a lady bug bank.
Maddy's creation, a loverly plate with assorted bugs.
Megan's creation, a flying pig bank.
And, last but not least, the birthday girl's creation, a beautiful, Asian inspired, flower plate. (the hole is to hold your chopsticks).

Havana Nights

This is my personal nail polish collection. Mostly OPI, sephora by OPI, and nicole by OPI. But the 2 on the right are Sally Hansen. Its not that big of a collection. I need moooooore!!! I am a nail polish fiend.

Below is the new Havana Nights collection by Sephora by OPI. They are such beautiful colors, perfect for summer. And they go together so well! Ah. I will be adding at least 3 of these to my nail polish collection, as soon as i get home. It's too bad they didn't come out before I left, it would have been so perfect for the beach!!! I've been in Florida since June 4th, btw. Ah! I'm getting home on Saturday, I can't wait!
My favorites are Caliente Coral, Carribean Cocktail. I also like Teal We Meet Again, but I already have a color similar to that from the previous Mermaid collection.

DIY ribbon belt

I recently found this super cool vintage ribbon in some old boxes, and wanted to make something out of it. It was fairly large ribbon, maybe 3 inches wide. So this is what I did. >>>

Materials
Ribbon
Belt Buckle
Thread
Sewing Machine

Instructions
1. Measure your waist.
2. Cut ribbon the length of waist +2 inches.
3. Fold ribbon in half. (Optional)
4. Sew along the edges of ribbon.
5. Attach belt buckle by threading ribbon through, about one inch, and sewing to secure.
6. Repeat on other side.
7. Try it on, and Voila! You have a fun, colorful belt!

It doesn't really keep your pants from falling down, but it's a fun accessory!
